Water Light Festival
In May local and international artists transform the many water fountains in Bressanone, Novacella, Fortezza and Chiusa into pieces of (light) art. An inspiration and an impulse for discussing the ecological, economic and social aspects of water.
Mountain Days
Every summer beginning, special guided tours lead through the Isarco Valley and the Dolomites. By getting a ticket, everyone can choose and create their very own individual package, for unforgettable adventures in the mountains.
Book days
Towards the end of April, every year Bressanone hosts a book festival with recitals, readings, exhibitions and workshops all about the written word.
Brixen Dolomites Marathon
An alpine marathon run? Why not. The special running event, starting from Bressanone’s Piazza Duomo, leads 42 km straight up to Plose mountain. Unfortunately cancelled in 2020, the sports event takes place regularly every year.
Altstadtfest (Old Town Festival)
For many inhabitants the „holy grail“ of festivities. Every two years, the Bressanone city centre changes into a coloured sea of people, culinary delights and entertainment – for three consecutive days. Everyone from age 0 to 100 participates.
Mountain bike Testival
From 17 to 20 September 2020, international mountain bike aficionados meet on Piazza Duomo in Bressanone. A variety of trails, brand new products, trials and much more. The sports event in autumn in Bressanone takes place for the 10th time in 2020.
Bread and strudel market
Taste the variety of a lively baking tradition. In October, on Bressanone’s Piazza Duomo. Already a regular appointment in the agenda of locals and guests.
Open air Festivals
Indie lovers meet at the Zugluft Festival in Bressanone’s suburb Milland, while those interested in some serious Rock’n’Roll meet in Naz at the Alpenflair. Year-round events, concerts of local bands and international artists attract a mixed crowd interested in music and partying, especially during the famous Summer emotions festival.
Christmas market
Oh, magical Advent! Authentic and sustainable, instead of kitschy and loud. The Christmas market in Bressanone reminds us of its roots. Contemplative and silent. Hand-made souvenirs on display, (N)ICE-skating near the Hofburg palace and an antique carousel for the little ones. What a lovely December.
